New Zealand exposure is hard on surfaces: UV, salt, freeze-thaw in the south. Travertine and porcelain pavers handle it; softer marbles do not.
20mm porcelain pavers can be laid on pedestals over a deck, and match interior panels from the same range so a threshold reads as one floor.
